I was very fortunate to be given the opportunity to write a feature on the Chinatown Soccer Club for the latest issue of ISM magazine that includes an interview with Coach Gerhard Stochl. Be sure to check out the uber-official CSC blog. No word yet on what the lads think of the coverage, but they have definitely received the package. It's worth pointing out that the story is elevated in a big, big way by Peter Sutherland's photography. What would it be without them? Nothing, that's for sure. Gattis-words and Sutherland-images go together like peanut butter and jelly, Laurel and Hardy, France and literary criticism. So head on over to the ISM community site and order yourself a hearty helping of football, New York-style.

Updates:
+ I'm afraid there are no site updates beyond the front page today, which should surprise no one since it's been a year to the day since the previous posting. However, we're due for a complete re-design in fall 2008 (pending the outsourcing of all heavy coding to India, naturally). I'd give some hints about all the cool clicky things soon to grace this space, but that'd spoil the fun--or so I am told.

A long time ago, Griff opened a Facebook account for me. He's a forward-thinker--always ahead of the curve on such things--and he knew that one day I would want to set up a page there. So, he waited, and waited some more, and eventually he forgot about it. That is, until I asked if he'd ever heard of Facebook on a very recent, very fine, spring day. When he was done scoffing and laughing--I never knew it was possible to do both at once, but it is; it's called sclaughing--he handed over the account. Here's the good news: I now have Facebook. Here's the bad news: it still has Griff's name on it. I've taken it over, and a name change is pending, but until that happens it will say Griff Hodges and have my picture on it. Ce la vie. Worse blunders have occurred throughout the course of human history--take the Maginot Line, for instance.
